CALL FOR TRAINING DATES IF NONE ARE CURRENTLY LISTED! +1 513.874.3225 Electro-Hydraulics Prerequisites: Some maintenance experience in hydraulics and Level 1 Industrial Hydraulics knowledge Exposure to electronic controls is helpful. Course Length: 3 Days Textbooks: Custom Equipment: CFC Double Sided Hydraulic Trainer, CFC Proportional Suitcase Trainer, Take-Apart & Cut-Away Components, CFC Advanced Hydraulics Lab Book, Prop/Servo Lab Manual This course begins with a review of electrical principles and covers amplifier theory and control concepts. Both proportional and servo valve theory are extensively reviewed. Participants will wire up control cards and drive electro-hydraulic valve cut-a-ways. They will learn how to adjust and fine-tune an application, set gains, make feedback adjustments, and troubleshoot. ISO cleanliness requirements and means to achieve them are also covered since precise controls require extra clean fluid. Modern hydraulic systems can involve sophisticated closed loop feedback controls for timely and precise equipment operation. Proportional valves, servo valves, and their associated electric and electronic power and signal arrangements require a good understanding by maintenance and engineering personnel to assure peak performance. Course Outline: • Hydraulic Principles and Fundamentals -Brief review and summary • Proportional Valves -Principle of operation -Solenoid types and electronic controls -Flow controls -Directional valves -Load compensation -Maintenance and troubleshooting • Servo Valves -Principles of operation -Single stage and two-stage spool type -Flapper-nozzle type -Jet pipe type -High performance type • Understanding Electro-Hydraulic Valves -Terminology and performance characteristics -Mechanical and electronic feedback -Control pressure -Dither, zero-lap and dead band -Hysteresis and linearity -Analog and digital electronic inputs -ISO cleanliness requirements • Applications and Circuits -Difference between proportional and servos -Applications and considerations -“Smart cylinder” design -Circuits-set up and troubleshooting -Electronics set up and troubleshooting
